Craftsman working in the MM Dom workshop

Our story

Where Wood Meets Art

MM Dom was founded on a single belief: that furniture should be more than functional. Every piece we make is a collaboration between natural timber and hand-poured resin — two materials that could not be more different, united by craft.

Born in a Montenegro workshop

MM Dom was born in Montenegro, where a tradition of skilled woodworking runs deep. Working alongside specialist carpenters and designers who have spent their careers mastering timber, we discovered that epoxy resin could capture light, movement, and colour in ways that wood alone never could.

What began as close collaboration with local craftspeople quickly grew into a full studio practice. Our pieces found their way into homes, restaurants, and hospitality spaces across Montenegro — each one a reflection of the region's natural materials and the precision of the hands that shaped it.

Today, every piece still leaves the same Montenegrin workshop. We have grown, but we have never outsourced the craft. Each table, shelf, and countertop is made by hand, start to finish, by the same close-knit team of carpenters and designers.

How we work

The making of a MM Dom piece

01

Timber selection

We source live-edge slabs from sustainable Montenegrin and Balkan mills, working with specialist carpenters who know the local forests intimately. Each board is chosen for its grain, character, and structural integrity — no two are alike.

02

Slab preparation

The timber is kiln-dried, flattened, and sanded to reveal its natural surface. Our carpenters assess every knot, void, and crack — many become defining features rather than flaws.

03

Resin pour

Pigments are mixed by hand to achieve the exact colour and opacity specified. The resin is poured in controlled layers, each cured before the next — a process that can take several days.

04

Finishing

Once fully cured, the surface is levelled, sanded through progressively finer grits, and finished with a hard-wearing oil or lacquer. The result is a surface that is both tactile and durable.

05

Quality check

Every piece is inspected under raking light before it leaves the workshop. We check for surface imperfections, structural integrity, and finish consistency.

06

Delivery across Montenegro

We deliver and install across Montenegro. Our team handles every piece personally, ensuring it arrives exactly as it left the workshop — no third-party couriers, no compromises.

What we stand for

Craft without compromise

Sustainable sourcing

All timber is sourced from FSC-certified Montenegrin and Balkan suppliers or reclaimed stock. We do not use tropical hardwoods.

No shortcuts

We use the same techniques whether a piece costs €800 or €8,000. The process does not change based on the price.

Transparency

Every commission comes with a full material breakdown and progress photography. You know exactly what you are getting and when.

Longevity

We build pieces to last decades. Every joint, finish, and material choice is made with long-term durability in mind.
